Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Sevier County Criminal History, including reading its content or using a search tool. Use of any part of the resource signals agreement with the terms below. A visitor who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned resource is not affiliated with government and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act decisions. Its purpose is to identify public criminal-record resources in Sevier County, Tennessee.

1. What This Website Is

Sevier County Criminal History is an independent reference resource, not a public office or private investigation firm. It neither stores official records nor retrieves them, performs government checks, or files documents for users.

Its content points to the Sevier County sheriff and court clerks, city police departments, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Department of Correction, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Outside tools may also be linked as optional research services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use must be lawful and must not impair the resource or another person's rights.

  • Do not violate federal, Tennessee, or local law
  • Do not stalk, threaten, harass, or intimidate anyone
  • Do not use the content for a decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Do not seek unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Do not operate scrapers, bots, or automated extraction tools
  • Do not disrupt access, performance, or security

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service must not be used for threats, stalking, intimidation, harassment, vigilantism, or unlawful discrimination. The restriction is especially important for Tennessee Sex Offender Registry data. That registry exists for public-safety awareness, and misuse against a listed person may lead to criminal prosecution or civil liability.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This resource does not create credit reports, background reports, or any other consumer report as defined by the FCRA. Visitors must not use its content or a linked tool for employment, housing, lending, insurance, licensing, benefits, or another regulated eligibility decision.

  • Do not decide whether a person should be hired or dismissed
  • Do not evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Do not assess credit, lending, or insurance eligibility
  • Do not decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Do not make any other decision governed by the FCRA

A legally required official check must use the authorized Tennessee Bureau of Investigation or other compliant channel designated for that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Descriptions of Sevier County records and Tennessee procedures are general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Tennessee attorney can advise how a charge, judgment, warrant, expungement rule, or deadline applies to an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No promise is made that:

  • Information will always be current, accurate, or complete
  • The resource will remain available without interruption
  • Every page will be free from faults or security risks
  • An outside search provider will return a full or correct match

Charges, custody, contact details, fees, access rules, and expungement status can change. Only an originating court or agency can provide an official current answer.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External links may reach government offices, courts, legal resources, advertisers, or search providers. Those destinations control their own content, availability, prices, security, and data practices. Their terms should be reviewed before use, and Sevier County Criminal History is not responsible for their operation.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code presented here belong to Sevier County Criminal History or the parties that licensed them. Copying, redistributing, changing, or building upon protected content requires prior written permission unless law clearly allows the use.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from access to, inability to use, or reliance on this resource or any linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, and reasonable related costs arising from that visitor's misuse of the resource or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of the resource must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Tennessee. The Tennessee Public Records Act, T.C.A. §§10-7-503 through 10-7-505, governs covered public offices, while T.C.A. §38-6-120 concerns official criminal-history dissemination; neither converts this private resource into a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms may be posted when practices or legal requirements change. A revision takes effect when published on this page unless the notice says otherwise.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or ended when needed to protect the service, enforce these terms, respond to misuse, or comply with law. Advance notice is not guaranteed.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. The affected provision will be limited only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
